Hi..  So I haven't updated for a while.. I apologize..

Here's whats new:
I've been working as a server up at O'Charley's (by the Dayton mall) for a little more than a month now..  Baseball is in full swing..  Our first game is either Thursday or Friday, not sure exactly, at Georgetown College (KY).  I signed up for classes for next quarter, I'm taking really easy classes!    Lets see, what else?  hmm...  Oh, my parents are officially retired now, and its annoying!!  They're always home now!!  lol somebody get them out of the house!!  lol  no, they really arent THAT bad I guess..  I'm going to Panama City, Florida for spring break..  not exactly a vacation though, its for baseball..  we're playing in the Gulf Coast JUCO tournament..  it should be a fun week..  then, the day after I get back, I get to go see Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Sugarland in concert!  That is definitely gonna be fun!  Taylor leaves for India this Friday and then she'll be gone forever!!   no, not quite, only like 5 weeks or so.. but it seems like forever!
Oh, I wrecked my car and it IS totalled..    I actually liked that car..  the other guys insurance company is paying for it though, because it was all his fault.  He got a ticket, I got nothing..  the only advantage to the situation is that I am currently driving a black 2006 Chevy Malibu, which I might add is very nice..  well I dont really have anything else to talk about right now..  but I DID update!  lol  bye everybody!  thanks for stopping by!

(by the way, I'm listening to the song "Island Boy" by Kenny Chesney (which I highly recommend downloading) because thats the mood I'm in.. and the mood I've been in a lot lately..  I'd love to be able to just get away down in the islands.. somewhere like St. Croix or St. Thomas would be AMAZING right now..  *sigh*  oh well.. )

Hey everybody!!  Happy New Year!

So it's been a little while since I've updated.. so I'm going to take this time to say..  WHO DEY!!!
The Bengals play the hated Pittsburgh Steelers this week in the Wild Card round of the playoffs..  and, as always, I will be there!!  This is the first time I've been able to go to a playoff game in all the years that we've had our tickets..  partly because the Bengals haven't been in the playoffs since we've had season tickets..  but none of that matters anymore, because this year is ours!  We WILL beat the Steelers this week!

Hmm...  what else is there??  Oh, yeah.. school started this week..  yay..  I can't hide my excitement..  so I'm taking a pilates class, right, and I walk into the gym today for our first class and 30 some girls look over at me..  hmmm..  I am the only guy in the class, it was kind of a weird feeling, but I'm sure I'll manage.. haha  Maybe I'll get a handicap for being a minority!
Other than that, my classes are alright..  I have some interesting teachers but other than that..

Christmas was good, so was New Years..  I went to a party with Taylor, who came home on New Years Eve from her week in Chicago.  It was fun, but a definite change from my regular New Years Eve parties..  I didn't even really think about drinking or anything like that..

Anyway, the Rose Bwol is on, and I'm hoping USC pulls out the win, I hate Texas..

Oh yeah, Go Buckeyes!!  We kicked Notre Dame's ass!!

update time!

First thing's first..  Who Dey!!  My beloved Cincinnati Bengals clinched their first division title and playoff berth since 1990 today in their win over the lions!  That all means that I get to go to a playoff game this year!!  It's pretty exciting stuff considering we've had season tickets for as long as I can remember and the playoffs haven't hardly even been a thought, let alone a possibilty..  And a HOME playoff game???  Unheard of!!  So yes, I'm excited.

Next thing, my dad is in the hospital.  He had cancer and had it removed about a month and a half ago, everything went really smoothly until this past week.  He got sick and he's really stubborn so he wouldn't go to the hospital when it first happened.  My mom finally talked him into going to the hospital last night and they discovered he has a bacterial infection in the area where they operated..  so they have to operate again tomorrow..  Well, I imagine he'll be fine, but we are worried about him and he may not make it out of the hospital until Christmas or possibly after..

Next thing is Taylor.  We've been seeing each other for 5 months and 2 weeks now.  She finds out Tuesday whether she gets accepted to Elon University or not.  That's her top choice.  She's excited and understandably nervous all at the same time.  I think she'll get in, there's no reason she shouldn't.  It's an exciting, but scary/sad reality that she'll be heading off to school next year, away from this town.

Then there's me...  I'm (90% sure) going to Friends University next year to go to school and play baseball.  Friends is in Wichita, Kansas and yeah, I know, theres not a lot to do out there.  It should be an exciting new chapter in my life because I'll finally get a chance to grow into myself and find out who I am.  That probably sounds wierd but it makes sense to me.  While I am going to college now, i'm not getting the full college experience out of it.  I'm living at home, going to a junior college..  it really isnt the same.  Yes my parents give me a lot of freedom, but they still make a lot of choices for me that I'd like to make for myself.  I think it's probably a good thing that I stayed home for my first two years of college to mature and become a little bit more responsible, but I think its time to go.  I love my parents sincerely, but I want to be on my own.  This next summer will be the beginning of this new era with me either going to San Antonio and living with my sister or going out to Wichita and living with a couple of my teammates for next year.  In either direction that I choose, I will be playing summer baseball, and at a high level.  In San Antonio, I'd be competing against guys that play for university of texas and other schools in that region.  and really, no matter who I play, it's going to be competitive.  Texas is notorious for producing great baseball players.  If I go to wichita I'd be playing in the Jayhawk league, which is known as one of the top 3 or 4 collegiate summer leagues in the country.  Only behind the great Alaskan league and the prolific Cape Cod league.
Well, I'm sure I'm boring anybody who is reading this that isn't totally into sports, so I'll wrap it up.

Oh, one other thing is that my family is selling our restaurant.  We plan on being out by the first of the year.  That will be a HUGE change in my life.  I've never known life without that restaurant.  I was just about 4 months old when they bought the place..  2006 has some interesting changes in store for me..
